The cost of medicines is a concern for many people.  This is why the KALBITOR Access Financial Assistance Program is committed to providing patients with HAE access to KALBITOR to ensure they are prepared to treat their next acute HAE attack.

Everyone is screened

Every HAE patient who calls KALBITOR Access at 1-888-4KALBITOR (1-888-452-5248) receives a customized review of their unique circumstances and is evaluated for financial assistance eligibility. 

Comprehensive Solutions

Depending on each patient’s individual health insurance status and eligibility, patients may receive:

  • KALBITOR free of charge for qualified uninsured patients
  • Copayment reduction for qualified insured patients
  • Charitable foundation assistance to subsidize the cost of health insurance premiums and copay assistance

Copayment Assistance Program

Through our Expanded Copayment Assistance Program, eligible patients1 with a KALBITOR prescription for treatment of acute HAE attacks may have many expenses that are currently not covered by health insurance, reimbursed through KALBITOR Access. Examples of the types of out-of-pocket expenses that are now covered include, but are not limited to:

  • Copayment, co-insurance and/or deductibles associated with KALBITOR, including administration fees (for example, emergency rooom visit, doctor office visit, urgent care clinic visit, infusion center visit)
  • Transportation costs to and from the treatment site, including taxi fare, bus/train fare and mileage reimbursement

 

1Persons enrolled in any government health care program, such as Medicare, Medicaid, or Tricare, and persons residing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts are not eligible to receive Copayment Assistance.  In addition, persons residing in the state of Minnesota, Rhode Island or Michigan are eligible for drug copayment assistance only, and not any other type of copayment assistance.
